JUMPSUIT: MISSGUIDED | SHOES: MISSGUIDED | BAG: ISSEY MIYAKE | SUNGLASSES: ALEXANDER WANG X H&M

This jumpsuit epitomises “lazy girl dressing but still want to make a statement” look. Buy it. Throw it on. Feel like you actually planned to look like you have made an effort. I wore this while I was visiting Madeira so I just wanted to be comfy while I walked around hence these Rosa ATP Atelier dupes from Missguided. Thank you Missguided you have answered my minimal Swedish sandal needs, wants, prayers. The best thing about this jumpsuit is it can be easily styled into a more evening look – let me grab a smarter shoe and this would be my perfect night time piece. Versatility is the key guys. Also, I am not the dressy up type anyways. So, to summarise: Aren’t jumpsuits just the best?

Oh, exciting news, I got my keys to my new flat yesterday so don’t be surprised if you see some homeware haulin’ posts coming this way soon.

Please let me know what you think about this look & leave any post suggestions in the comments! Oh and follow me on Bloglovin too because you don’t want to miss a post do you?

LEARNING TO SWITCH OFF – SORRY NOT SORRY

PHOTOS TAKEN @ NINI ANDRADE SILVA DESIGN CENTRE, MADEIRA

So I haven’t posted anything for a while, on here, instagram and even twitter has been a bit thin for me recently – which is utterly out of character. I kept telling myself “omg no you have to put a picture on insta” and “you have to tweet AT LEAST once today, even just a retweet!” and I felt so guilty for letting my social media go so dry but the question is why? Why did it cause me so much distress? Like seriously it is ridiculous. In the past couple of weeks I have been on a girls trip away to visit one of my best friends while she was living in Spain, I found the most perfect flat which I’m set to get the keys for this month and also done a lot of shopping, of course.

It would be an understatement to say that going out and not taking a picture of my breakfast -nutella pancakes to be exact- or getting the perfect shot of my mai tai while having drinks after work on a Friday was bliss. I was even having too much fun in Spain to take holiday outfit photos for my blog. Not that I am not serious about this blogging stuff but just because I literally had no time, I was too bothered about being lay on the beach with 3 of my favourite people to even think about dragging them across Alicante to find the “perfect white wall” for the best outfit shots. Not to mention that I was burnt to a crisp and no amount of concealer could cover my beaming face & the internet does not need to see that.

Moral of the story: If you feel like taking a step back then do it! No need to feel guilty for watching the world through your eyes and not a lens.

Another day, another white outfit. Isn’t it just great when you throw together an outfit on the sole purpose of wanting to be comfortable and it comes out just as aesthetically pleasing as it does feel snug. The best type of days.

These sarong style pants from Boohoo are the best thing a lazy dresser like me could ever own. Don’t want to compromise comfort for style? Then invest in a statement pant like these – the perfect piece to take an outfit from plain right could not be bothered to well, anything is better than leggings right?

I got this top in the recent Topshop sale and I just could not resist a white oversized jumper thingy because lets face it, the things that catch my eye in any shop are white, oversized and anything I can just chuck on and go. I just can’t help it! I like to be comfy guys ok. I am at a point with my wardrobe now where everything is so “simple” and “basic” almost that anything goes with everything and I have 1001 different combinations sitting there waiting to be discovered.

Also, I think I have slight OCD where everything has to be matchy matchy as much as possible so when I wear white I always feel the need to wear white everything literally so don’t judge and I am sure you will see it quite frequently here. Sorry not sorry.

JUMPSUIT: MISSGUIDED | SHOES: H&M | BAG: MISSGUIDED | SUNGLASSES: PRIMARK

So obsessed with this heavy ribbed fabric from Missguided, I have this jumpsuit in black also (here) and the dress version (here) and I am also considering grabbing the cropped jumpers that they have recently added to the site! Issues. There is only one way to style a white jumpsuit like this and that is a white bag and white shoes, of course. These H&M beauts are satisfying my Ports 1961 cravings since I don’t have a huge amount of disposable income to buy the real deal but I am confident that the time will come! For sure. I have bought a lot of twisty/knotted detailed things recently so thanks for that Ports – but I am not complaining.

On another note, I have put some thought into posting consistently so expect a post every Sunday & Wednesday. Have a great bank holiday weekend, unless you work in retail and well, yeah, too bad – Ive been there!

TIPS: INTERNING IN FASHION

fashion-internship-tips

Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t interned for Vogue, I haven’t interned for a grand Parisian fashion house and I definitely don’t claim to have the best experience within the industry. I have however done my fair share of internships and thought that I would share a few major tips to become a successful intern!

1.START TO SAVE MONEY

It is a sad truth but 99% of fashion internships will want you to work for free. Some may pay travel expenses, some will pay for your lunch, some may pay for both and some may pay for nothing. If you are about to intern or thinking of interning then start to save! Many placements offer part time hours to allow time to work to keep your self afloat, but for the ones that don’t then the experience should be a reward in itself. It will help a great deal to put some money away and money you will find is a rare commodity when you are interning. Of course there are paid placements out there so don’t let the money issue put you off!

2.DO EVERYTHING WITH A SMILE

It is inevitable. You will be asked to do the most laborious & mundane tasks, you will have to go get coffee, its no cliche! Of course nobody wants to do these things but you are an intern, you have to impress and do everything with your upmost enthusiasm. I won’t lie, your hard work will go unnoticed by most people, but there are a few people that you will meet along the way that will recognise you for your help and hard work and may eventually pay you back by offering you to get involved with more exciting tasks and ultimately – offer you a full time paid job!

3.GET INVOLVED.

Don’t be afraid to share your ideas. At most times you will feel like it isn’t your place to even speak, let alone offer your thoughts towards a a current project. As an intern you are still a part of the team and team members share ideas with each other. You don’t think that skirt goes with those shoes when your on a shoot? Then offer an alternative pair. You have come across an upcoming blogger that would be great to collaborate with? Tell your supervisor. You are a part of the team just as much as everybody else in the office and not shying away from getting stuck in and offering up your ideas is a sure way to get yourself noticed. Just don’t get too carried away – nobody likes a know-it-all!

4.YOU WILL MEET HORRIBLE PEOPLE

A point that isn’t inclusive of the fashion industry. Anywhere you go you will meet people that aren’t your cup of tea, no matter how fabulous you are. It is just life and yeah, so what. Brush it off and own it. The best revenge is becoming super successful and you never know, they could be working for you one day!

5.YOU WILL ALSO MEET GREAT PEOPLE

One of the best things about interning is the great people that you will meet along the way! The most rewarding part of interning anywhere is the contacts that you will make. In this industry it is so important to build relationships and make contacts with industry professionals. When you move on you know that you have “friends” that you can call on for collaborations, projects and even further work experience. You never know, Susan from the pictures desk has a flatmate who knows Victoria an editorial assistant for ELLE where a job has opened up… It could be the making of you.

Hopefully these quick tips may be useful in some way if you are thinking of interning! Let me know if you enjoyed this kind of post, I would love to hear your opinions or maybe you know an extra tip or two to help me out! Please follow me on bloglovin to keep up to date with upcoming posts!

JUMPER DRESS: MISSGUIDED | SHOES: MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA MM6 | BAG: ISSEY MIYAKE | SUNGLASSES: PRIMARK | CAP: PAUL & SHARK

Hi! I know it has been a while since my I last posted here… but since I have: I have been on a cruise, done a lot of shopping and turned 21! So I am real woman now. I did spend my birthday at sea and let me tell you that I now know that I have the worst sea sickness ever known to man. Yep, I seen my 21st in with my head down a toilet and not for the right reasons. This being one of the reasons that I cherished the time that my feet spent on solid earth cemented ground but also because of scouting out the best backgrounds for outfit posts! This one was taken in Morocco, easily the best place that I visited on my whole trip and I bought the cutest pair of leather pointy slipper thingies. It wouldn’t be a trip to a medina without buying some legit Moroccan slip ons. Am I right?

Yes, admittedly I was a little warm in this Missguided ribbed jumper dress but it is literally the most perfect item to throw on and it just looks instantly cool – easily my most favourite piece I have in my wardrobe right now and currently on sale! It is made from quite a thick neoprene fabric though so I would recommend not to wear it when your walking around North Africa.

Also can we just appreciate these MM6 mesh high top sandals that I am convinced were a gift from the gods. I just love them. It was love at first sight, I might of even pushed a kid over when I seen them across the shop, I just had to get them and get them fast. That didn’t happen, I didn’t push a kid over but I did get the shoes and I’m sure you will see them here quite often! Please share my enthusiasm for these shoes, I’m sure you will.

Please let me introduce to you my new Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag – the perfect birthday present but I think now I might be an addict so if anybody wants to buy me any more, any colour any shape I am not too fussed I just need more. I think I have Miyake madness at the moment because I am so obsessed with pleats and this bag and yeah, Pleats Please. Literally. If anybody feels the same then there is a Modern Japanese exhibition currently on at Manchester Art Gallery so a lot of Miyake designs. Its worth a visit!

Just a quick side note about the sunglasses: The best Dior dupes ever from Primark for like £2.50, I mean come on £350? Not a chance! Im just waiting for them to bring out some rose gold ones because why not? £2.50. Also, ngl I robbed the cap from my dad.

Sorry for rambling on! I do have more outfits to put up from my holiday so please follow me on Bloglovin’ to keep up to date with those. I also have a ton of post ideas but if there is anything in particular you would like to see or read then let me know!

Whenever I am asked to style a shoot/attend a shoot I always take my own camera along because although yes I have been asked to do one specific job it doesn’t mean that my creativity stops there. I love taking photographs. I love making images. I love artistic direction, that being on set and even behind my own camera making my own mini series of candid photographs like these. These images can not be further away from the concept of the actual shoot which is what excites me about creating my own art – everybody has a different vision and my little olympus pen allows me to indulge in mine.

JUMPER: PRIMARK | JACKET: H&M | COAT: TOPSHOP | BOOTS: PRIMARK

This is basically my uniform. Black, oversized, lots of layers – those things just feel me y’know? This is a outfit that I actually wear a lot to go to work in and if it isn’t this specific combination, then it never strays far off. Everything I am actually wearing here is not new, at all. I place the coat at maybe 3 or 4 years old and the jacket maybe 2? See I told you, Uniform. To be honest I have a whole wardrobe dedicated to coats but this H&M oversized neoprene jacket has to be literally my favourite item I have ever scored from any sale rack, I wear it constantly so don’t be surprised if you see it here again.

Back with another instalment of STYLING: BOYFRIEND SERIES – He has to pose for me as a thank you for being his personal shopper! I actually really enjoy doing these types of posts because its so relaxing not being the one that has to pose and to be honest I just genuinely love creating imagery. I did do an A Level in photography so I’m no expert but it is something I enjoy and feel comfortable doing, I can be really fussy too so s/o to Jack for putting up with me shouting, pointing & dragging him out to do this!

This has to be one of my favourite colour combinations and adding in the white t-shirt underneath the jumper helps break up the whole look and perfectly compliments the black and beige tones – PLUS – if you can not already tell I have a massive penchant for layering clothes. I don’t know why, I think it stems from my constant feeling for wanting to be wrapped up / comfy / in bed. Welll that escalated quickly.

COAT: JAEGER | JUMPSUIT: MISSGUIDED | BOOTS: PRIMARK | NECKLACE: MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA X H&M | SCARF: PRIMARK | BAG: DUPE CELINE

Happy Tuesday! It’s so weird doing my own outfit posts, I keep looking over at the images and cringing because I am so used to dressing other people and being behind the camera as a freelance stylist and I am no model! The wind was also horrendous, tragic.

I love this Missguided culotte jumpsuit, it is my go to when I need to go shopping or dress down Friday’s at work or just about anything really. Paired with my absolute favourite ever piece of jewellery, my Maison Martin Margiela x H&M keychain necklace because why not – its great and gets a lot of stares. Maybe people think I am into all that dominatrix stuff but rest assured it is just fashion daaahling.
